What is brochure printing?
Brochures are folded printed sheets used for marketing, product information, and corporate communication. The three most common formats in India are the bi-fold (single fold, 4 panels), tri-fold (two folds, 6 panels), and Z-fold. Getting the format, paper, and finish right makes a significant difference to how your brand is perceived.
Paper options and what they mean

Fold types
- Bi-fold (4 panels) — one centre fold, gives 4 printable panels. Simple, professional, works well for A4 folded to A5.
- Tri-fold (6 panels) — two parallel folds. The most common brochure format. Fits in DL envelopes. Good for 6 distinct sections of content.
- Z-fold — accordion-style. Visible on both sides. Good for maps, instructions, sequential information.
- Gate fold — two outer panels fold to meet in the middle. Premium feel for product launches and catalogues.
Finish options
Matte lamination is the most popular finish for professional brochures — it hides fingerprints, has a soft feel, and photos print well on it. Gloss lamination makes colours pop but shows fingerprints. Soft touch (velvet) lamination is premium and expensive. Spot UV on cover adds a tactile highlight effect but adds 30–50% to cost.
